1 Peter 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has
caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead,
4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in
the last time.

Main Idea:
Our confidence in who God is, and our assurance of what he’s done, results in our
praise of him.
All Praise to Him!
1. because He is worthy! (vs. 3a)
2. because he has caused us to be born again. (vs. 3b)
3. because he secures our inheritance. (vs.4)
4. because he guards us by his power. (vs. 5)
Questions:
How often is your worship of God rooted simply in who he is? (e.g. Psalm 150, Psalm 68, Psalm 148)
How can embracing this new identity as God’s child help us when we struggle with pride. (Pride: i.e. – we do this by either thinking too high of ourselves, or by thinking too low of ourselves.)
In a world dominated by materialism and the accumulation of wealth, how should knowing that we have a future incorruptible inheritance affect a Christian’s view of money and possessions in this life?
How has this passage both excited you about where we’re heading, and increased your confidence that you’ll get there? What difference to your feelings and/or actions will this make today?
